This is the twentieth Annual Report, presented to Parliament by the Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee. It provides a summary of the Committee’s data analyses, reviews of child deaths, and activities undertaken to prevent the death or serious injury of children and young people.
In 2024, 70 children and young people died in South Australia which was the lowest recorded number in any one year of the Committee’s history. Please note this figure does not include cases excluded from statistical reporting in the Child Death Register – please see 4.2.1 Operational Definition of Death in the Annual Report for further information.
